I first tried these at a festival years ago and was so glad to find them here on Amazon. They are soothing for the throat!I found and bought some of these candies at the local farmers market this summer and fell in love with them. The small bag I bought was a bit pricey but I wanted to try them. I like them so much I went on line in search of them and found, what I thought the best deal for them here on Amazon. This review is for the 3 pound bag, because I wanted a good supply that would last me a while, and at the time I ordered they were $17.89, still pricey, but much better than the 5 pound bag I found on another site for just over 15 dollars, but it had a charge of over 16 dollars for shipping! Yikes! They arrived in a box with something else I ordered, the items were padded with a few airbags, but really not enough protection around them. They came in sealed plastic bag that was not reusable. Sad because a zip lock bag, or a zipper one would be more convenient for such a large supply of candy. I noticed that since I have bought this candy the price has risen to $19.86, now, still with free shipping, even still that is a bit pricey! I hope it goes down again. On initial inspection before opening the bag I saw there were smashed and damaged candies inside. Surely it happened in the packaging of the candy as well as during shipment, with no way to tell I place the blame on both the company that bagged it and those that shipped it to be fair, there was not enough padding to truly protect it.I then cut the bag open and gently poured it out so I could inspect each piece, and took pictures of what I found. There were broken candies, smashed candies, tiny pieces of candy in wrappers, and even missing candies! The wrappers were sticky! Gross, and I even found one with a piece of candy stuck on the outside. All of this seems to be a quality control issue, like they do not make a final inspection before sending it out! So because of the lack of care, and handling the rating will not be as high as it should be.They say assorted flavors, but I found it a mix of six flavors and they are...What I call Honey, honey (dark yellow, honey color)... the hard candy is honey flavored and then there is a little bit of honey inside. I really enjoy this flavor! It is a very unique flavor, hard to describe, it is flowery! (As I write this I am currently taste testing them again, so good!)Green Apple, (green color) good flavor, could be a tad bit stronger, but over all pretty darn good!Strawberry (red color) Not sure if it is just the batch I got but the flavor is a bit weak and restrained. I know it is strawberry, but it comes across as wanna be strawberry... barely there strawberry. The ones I got from the bee keeper were STRAWBERRY! So maybe it needs to be tweaked or something?Grape (purple color) Nice flavor, again could be a tad bit stronger, but enjoyable none the less.Orange (orange color) You'll have no doubt what you are sucking on! (git yur mind outta that gutter!) Nice, crisp, potent citrus flavor! Screams I'm ORANGE! Almost makes you pucker! Perfect!Lemon (yellow color) I am a sucker for lemon flavors, and this one is mighty fine! Sweet with little sparks of tart here and there! Very happy with the flavor, but often wonder if it was just amped up a tad how much better it would be.As they are, these candies are very good, and there is always room for improvement. As for the honey in the center that seems a bit hit or miss as well. Sometimes there is very, very little and what is in their seems dried up, chewy. Sometimes there is just the barest hint of honey inside. Sometimes, and this is rarer, there is a bit that oozes out, wish it happened more often because it is enjoyable, something to savor and relish! Still waiting to come across a gusher, cannot wait, that is like hoping to find the double yolker in a carton of eggs!Would I buy this candy again? Hell yes BUT only if it is the same price I paid for the three pound bag, or cheaper. Hope this helps those that are like me that like to read reviews before they make a purchase!I told myself I have to stop ordering these but no! They are so addictive and I love sharing with my friends at work. I have no idea how many I have bought. So many 3 pounds of these I have received ?Love the flavors of these and especially love to little honey surprise in each one. I get dry throat with all this mask wearing, and these help sooth it.I originally got these in the 1 pound bag and they were great! Perfect condition, great assortment, neatly wrapped individually. The candy itself is amazing. If I were rating the 1lb bag, it would absolutely be 5/5 stars. But this review is about the 3lb bag and NOT the 1lb one (I mention this because the same seller lists both bags in a single listing). I decided to get the 3lb bag and I was terribly disappointed. Over 75% of the bag was one flavor, the bag was a cheap generic bag which split open in shipping (the 1lb was in a very nice, tough, and resealable bag), the individually wrapped candies themselves were covered in an unknown sticky residue, and many of the candies were either 1/2 piece or 1&1/2 pieces inside the wrappers. It seems the 3lb bag contains the rejects from the 1lb bag. Maybe I just got a bad batch? I guess I will return it.Edit: the seller has been very helpful and explained that the batch I got was likely damaged in transit, and has verified that the 3lb bag is the same quality at the 1lb and that I likely got a bad batch which could be returned. And so I will return them and purchase another to see, as the candies themselves are amazing enough for me to mention that they are amazing twice in the same review. Hopefully the next ones won't have the same issues. As others have said, unless these are fresh the honey gets absorbed into the hard candy and they just don't taste good. I ended up throwing them away. The expiration date on my bag was 7 months out, so they clearly need to readjust it so you get them fresh.I have ordered these several times, and they are always fresh and delicious. It arrived as advertised, however it doesn't taste very good. I was really hard pressed to detect the honey flavor. I had one or two that tasted great, but those just tasted like regular hard candy. All the others were pretty blah and most people I share them with agreed. Great idea, but the flavors are very inconsistent, even within the same color.
