I remember buying this on cassette back when it first came out. I killed that tape, I used it so much. I've had a bad CD copy for many years and wanted an original, but this album was out of print a long time. I took the chance and ordered a used copy (which was in excellent condition by the way-thanx to the distributor!) , and I've listened to it 6 times since I got it. Vivian Campbell & Co. , like a lot of artists at that time, stepped away from the 80's metal genre and made a gritty rock album more in vein of the 70's. Of course there's outstanding guitar playing, but also great lyrics. I think "Toy Soldier" was the only single, but "I Believe", "Baby Blue", and "America" were just as good or better. Not to say there are bad tracks, 'cause they're all good. You might have a hard time finding Riverdogs, and you'll pay a high price (I did), but it's well worth the effort. BUY IT YOU NEED IT.Picked this up from Amazon last week. Bought used and plays perfectly. Fast shipping! Ok had this on cassette back in early 90s when I was stationed in Japan. We lived in an apartment directly above a cd/ video rental store we frequented. Saw this cd available for rent ( guess no copyright issues existed there) and took it home and taped it. Only reason I got it was for Viv Campbell but the band sounds perfect. Amazing vocals and well written. This should've been big as Pearl Jam Ten. It's better. If you can find a copy - get it!!Great album. A forgotten gem!Vivian Campbell paired up with a great singer and band is a real bonus. I've been a fan since his Dio days and really love the style of music on this album. The real surprise is the Rock Candy reissue actually features extras, which they don't normally include on their releases. This album contains a live radio broadcast recording along with a non album track called Pennsylvania. In 25 years, I've been married, changed careers and moved about 8 times. This Cd always remains within arms reach.I will be brave enough to say that this is my favorite CD.Great singing. great songwriting and incredible guitar playing. I love 80's metal and this has everything we love about that era without all the really bad cliches.God Bless Riverdogs!AwesomeBought this because I loved " California" so much. This is another solid effort once you get past the first track. If you can find it like I did, you would be dispointed.Very good album overall. Just found out about the Riverdogs listening to Slacker Radio on my phone. They remind me of the band "Blackfoot" in a way. Really like them. This is a classy hard rock bluesy album featuring Vivian Campbell of Def Leppard fame. This was originally released in 1990 just about the time when grunge was taking over the world, so was rather different and quite mellow in comparison. Good songs and a good production, well worth checking out. It also features Rob Lamothe, whom some of you may know of.The Riverdogs a great sounding album worthy of anyone's collection.great album.J'ai été agréablement surpris par la qualité de la musique proposéeLe remastering donne toute sa clarté au disque, Vivian Campbell aurait dû continuer cette expérience au lieu de se perdre avec Def Leppard.Indispensable dans votre cdthèque.
