First time making bonbons and they came out better than I expected. One mold had a slight scratch but it didn’t really show on the chocolate so overall I was very pleased. I had a lot of trouble getting out the chocolates and had to bang the mold very often to make the chocolates fall (most eventually did!). I microwave tempered Callebaut chocolates but I’m a total beginner so I know that between the tempering and lack of practice filling molds, it likely made the experience much more difficult. I’ve only used it twice and the second time was more difficult to get the chocolates out so I’m not sure how well it stands against constant use, but again it’s very likely it was due to my inconsistency. Definitely do research on how to make chocolates and use/care for the molds if you’re a beginner like me.My wife's a chocolatier, and I collect various molds for her. She has some 45-50. This one is great for putting caramels inside and looks like a caramel chocolate piece also. Sturdy, easy to clean and chocolates come out easily if you coat the molds with cocoa butter. You can even use colored cocoa butter. Make sure the mold is warm before putting in the tempered chocolates. See "Making Chocolate for Dummies." Best beginners chocolate-making bookEasy to use. Coated with chocolate, poured out remaining chocolate ×2. Filled and final coating. Came out beautiful. Also have made after filling, I slightly melted one and connected it to another. This mold is thinner than my other higher quality molds. The mold has stress fractures from just one use. Disappointed with this mold. I came across this one. It was a good price and had good reviews, so I ordered it right away. When I received it I immediately noticed that several of the cavities had scratches in them, ohers had imperfections causing odd shaped plateaus in them, and finally the middle cavity had a noticeable divot in it where it was pulled from the molding machine. I figured I had just got a bad one, and set up a return and replacement. The second one arrived quickly, but had the same issues. Odd divots, and the center cavity bubble. I decided to try it out thinking maybe I was just seeing imperfections on the back side of the mold. Nope! The chocolates did release well, but showed every single imperfection. With as many good reviews as this had, I was really surprised with the product I received. The second mold is on it's way back and I am looking for a new one.Ordered 8 of these molds. 50% of molds arrived cracked or broken, the other 50% broke or fractured upon first use. This is a plastic mould. Not polycarbonate. There is a huge difference. It is also not 21 cavities. Why on earth can it not be properly advertised? I'm glad I only paid a fraction of the price for it. I bought it to see if you could really get polycarbonate moulds for cheap. Silly me.To the person that wrote a one star review because they couldn’t get the choclate out. Try tempering your chocolate. If you don’t you will never get it out of a polycarbonate mold like this. If you don’t know how, then learn. If you don’t want to learn, then use silicon molds. This is obviously a cheap product and not made as advertised! It’s plastic not polycarbonate. In 5 of the cavities has deep etches inside and scratched on top as well. This will make the chocolates have that impression as well! Not impressed!Sturdy product, but if you are looking for the perfect chocolate, you won't necessarily get it from this unit. About 1/2 of the molds in mine are not perfectly smooth, they leave the chocolate with a bumpy texture instead of glass -like. Which is fine for the hobbyist, well for me it is, but if you are looking at a small home business and want to sell your product then maybe not.these are plastic and not polycarbonate. They’re harder to use and don’t produce as nice of chocolates. Spend 5-10$ more and get a real mold and not this one
