Let's get something straightened out about this particular product. These are NOT old gumballs. The reason they are somewhat hard is because they have a candy filled center. I will admit that some people may have a hard time chewing them at first(sorry about that Nana) but the candy center quickly dissolves(it's there more for taste than texture) and you are left with a nice soft chew that's actually rather pleasant. Plus the candy center is loaded with flavor and oh so cherrylicious. Also, I did have some chipped gumballs like other reviewers have stated but that's not a big deal to me. My gumball machine is for having a fun way to enjoy gum, not to be an aesthetically pleasing display piece(that would be a waste of good gum) so I don't care that they have a little damage. The red color on the undamaged parts is so pretty! All in all, if you don't mind the hard start to the chew and a few roughed up gumballs, then this is a delicious way to brighten up you or a loved one's day. I(and my sweet tooth) are thoroughly satisfied.
