Bought this to use for a couple parties. My first concern was I ordered the version with the dome top. I realized that the top and the machine/cart shipped separately but still messaged the seller to be sure. They responded to me the next day and assured me it would arrive. The machine itself is great but the cart not so much. There’s some paint chipping and it feels pretty cheap. But I’m going to repaint it anyway so I don’t mind. All in all I think it’s a nice machine. It’s very close to professional quality but not quite there. I’m not sure what the market is for these but it feels like a good machine for the price. We love making cotton candy with this machine. I've serviced the candy melting pot a couple times - it's a bit of work, but engineered well enough to make it do-able. Besides triggering the smoke detector on occasion, and worrying about the tires getting damaged, I've enjoyed every other aspect of this unit after owning it for a good while now, and many uses for family and friends. I have 7 kids, so having a machine of this size to accommodate my own family and visitors has been great. We love making cotton candy with the typical flossing sugars from Gold Medal, and Dad's root beer barrels, Life Savers, and candy canes. The red cabinet model looks great sitting next to our Nostalgia-brand popcorn machine. Will probably modify my unit to hold paper cones in one of the trays at some point. Glad the unit shipped with an extra brush for the motor, when it comes time to replace that. The item wasn't very sturdy once it was put together. It wobbles. It also would be nice that it mentions that it ships in pieces pieces at different times.Love this! A great Investment, my grandkids love it! I love it! We have cotton candy once a week.I bought this thing on a whim and glad I did. Figuring out what setting to use for the temperature was a bit difficult. There wasn't anything I could find that said what the desired temperature should be. Must be a well kept secret in the cotton candy business. So we just turned the thing all the way up and made a whole lot of cotton candy. We probably wasted more floss sugar than we made, but we have no idea what we are doing. It's super fun to use though. Very glad I bought it.Overall the machine is very well built. Assembly instructions were easy to follow. Like I said, other than not having a "How to make cotton candy" guide to tell me what I'm supposed to do with it, it's pretty straight forward. If you're looking for a quality machine, then this one is perfect!!!This makes excellent floss when it works. However fuses burn out quickly. Save yourself some money and DO NOT get the version with the stand. It is cheap and wobbly. Ours will fall apart very soon. Bottom line if you are using once or twice, I’d recommend it. If you plan on using it a lot, save up and buy the Paragon—but be sure to call Paragon customer service to fine tune your machine. Was going to send this back. Silver Pan was clearly used with sticky residue and dents/scratches but didn’t want the hassle so went ahead and used it. Makes cotton candy very well. Not professional quality so need to be gentle with it. Will easily burn the sugar and is difficult to clean. More than double the price it should be. My autistic son likes it a lot so it’s bringing a lot of joy, so in all, worth it for that reason.I was really excited to get my cotton candy machine, however the instructions were very vague. You have to keep playing with the settings to get a functional way to make cotton candy. I guess I had it up to high, could barely make the candy. I haven’t gotten the right setting as of yet. At this point I’m a little frustrated.
